Tanren Map

Tanren is the third released region in PMU, released around August in 2012. Tanren has several dungeons of varying levels. It also includes another area called the Tanren Undercity. To get to Tanren, the player is required to go through Tanren Tunnel. When first entering the region, after falling out of Tanren Tunnel, the player will meet Pat the Psyduck, a resident of Tanren City.

After first meeting Pat, he gives the player an impossible-to-answer question, before fooling the player into going south instead of north. The player gets tired of Pat tricking the player, causing the player to refuse to believe Pat when Pat tells the player to go north. The player goes north anyways and gets to Tanren City's Plaza.
  • Eh... ?
  • Well, whadd'ya know - it's another visitor! Today must be my lucky day!
  • So hey, you're new around these parts, ain't ya?
  • If your lookin' to get through to the city, you've gotta answer a riddle, got it?
  • Tell me, outsider...
  • If a Pidgey were to fly from Grassroot to Winden with three eating breaks that lasted fifteen minutes each, how long would it take for the said Pidgey to arrive to Winden...
  • ...given winds are pushing south at approximately eighty-eight miles an hour?
  • [Player Name]: .... ?!
  • Kya kya kya! I'm just messin' with ya!
  • You should'a seen the look on your face, though - priceless! Kyo Kyo!
  • My name is Pat. I think it might've been short for something, but it's been so long that I forgot. As you may have already guessed, I'm the coolest, hippest Pokémon aroun' Tanren City!
  • In fact, Pokémon around here typically regard me as Peculiar Pat, the Psyduck with all the latest style. Who could ever disagree with a trendy, fashionable Pokémon like me?
  • Well, the answer is simply... no one!
  • Kya kya kya!
  • [Player Name]: .....
  • Oh, you wanna know where Tanren City is? Well, why didn't ya ask sooner?
  • Kya kya... you sure you are a weird Pokémon. Do you even have a name at all?
  • [Player Name]: ........
  • Tanren City? You're still asking about that? Don't ya have anythin' motr interesting to ask?
  • Eh fine... Tanren City is down south from here.
  • Just keep goin' down from where ya are now, 'n you should find it real good and easy!
  • Kya Kya Kya... just kidding! Fooled ya again! Kya!
  • Come back 'ere, [Player Name]. I ain't through with you yet.
  • [Player Name]: ........
  • Kya kya kya kya! Oh, I'm still in tears. I can't believe you actually fell for that one!
  • Kya... Sorry, you're just so easy to fool, is all! Come on, now... there's no need to look all grumpy about a little joke. Kya kya!
  • Anyways, your good and valuable friend, Peculiar Pat, will show you into Tanren. Don't worry, this time it ain't a joke. I swear it.
  • [Player Name]: ........
  • ... What? Don't believe me?
  • Well, I don't see any reason as to why ya wouldn't.
  • My City is right this way - follow me, before ya get yourself lost or somethin'.
  • Kya kya kya!

You can fly to Tanren from east of The Sky.

Old Mettle Mountain top

  • Tanren existed in PMU 6 along with Exbel, Winden, and Archford.
  • There used to be a glitch when, upon first meeting Pat, his mugshot became a random Unova legendary Pokémon. These Unova legendary Pokémon include Keldeo, Meloetta, Genesect, Reshiram, Zekrom, and Kyurem.
  • In the past there were Pokémon on Mettle Mountain that were made to resemble select staff members.
    • Grovyle was Candroo
    • Lucario was Darkmazer
    • Dragonair was Yatterman
    • Kabutops was Kronic
  • There was a mistake in the News section featuring Mettle Mountain as a new dungeon, rather than a new area.
