Stats are a primary function of the metagame. Each stat is separated into different categories of Attack, Defence, Special Attack, Special Defence, Speed, and HP (Health Points). In PMU 6 and PMU 5, you could put in points for a stat when leveling up, but in PMU 7, the stats became set for balancing purposes.
Attack and Defence affect physical moves, while Special Attack and Special Defence affect special moves. To learn more about these moves, click here.
